Best Mexican food in Waco by far!

Went to eat breakfast at the Magnolia table which turned out to be a 2 hour wait so in the meantime I looked for something near by. Came across El Charro cafe and ordered their huevos rancheros. It was perfect! Great place for cheap but good food.

Love this place! Small, comfortable, clean, great food and friendly staff. Prices can't be beat. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Really good Menudo. The chips are the best in Waco. We have always had exceptional service(way to go Celeste). The food is always hot and fresh. The owners are almost always there & greet all of their customers with a smile and actually do a lot of the work themselves. Great place!

If you are in the area and are hungry this place is ok. Service was very slow. The food was nothing to write home about. I would not drive across town to eat here. Taco shells were hard and tasted stale. Our food sat on the bar long enough for the taco meat to be cold. Plate was hot? My sauce on my enchiladas was dark brown like when something sits for a while. I ordered chili con carne but the sauce tased a little like mole, which is on the menue. Green sauce is real hot. Red sauce is real plain. Mix the two 60 red 40 green, its good. Sodas are from a can. Three tacos, side of guac, an enchilada plate and 2 sodas, $22.50.

Good food, good salsa. Go in the afternoon and talk to Rudy. Excellent service.

Very nice family operated restaurant. Friendly, attentive staff and delicious food. Love that they recently installed another T.V so guest at the end of restaurant can watch the game while enjoying their meal.

First time eating here. Had a bad experience , food was cold. Waitress forgot our tortillas, she never came back to ask if everything was ok. Never brought us hot sauce we had to take some from another table. We waited and waited for tortillas and nothing. My husband had to get up and tell her we were waiting on tortillas. She still served another customer before bringing us tortillas. I feel customer service was very poor. I advise waitress food was cold she didn't say a word. I complained to cashier she just apologized and her excuse was that waitress was a new employee. Not going back felt unwelcome.

Solid TexMex food in a warm, homey atmosphere. Excellent cheese and onion enchiladas with chili con carne on top. Beef tacos were large with nicely seasoned ground beef. NOT homemade tortillas but still good. Efficient waitstaff, good prices and tasty food make for a winning restaurant experience. Try them, you'll like them!

My friend and I dont live here but were driving through waco and saw this place. Our food was soooo good and we have both agreed that we need to go back soon. Their salsa is probably the best I have ever had and we were really impressed when the gentleman who was serving us had said it was made there! Good portions and definitely reasonably priced!

The food is great and the service is on point. It does take a little time to get your food, because they are always busy. The chips and salsa are awesome so it's all good. One of my favorite places to go for breakfast.
